John M. Church, CEO – Principal
Background covers over 30 years of investment banking experience in the asset backed loan industry. In his current role at Waterstone Asset Management, John is responsible for building and managing WCA’s asset management and servicing business. Prior to Waterstone, John was a Managing Director at Wachovia Securities where he created and managed the CMBS loan servicing group into an industry leading platform growing net revenues to over $100 million. Over his career, he has started five institutional asset management platforms providing superior returns on invested capital and operating businesses. He has established strong relationships within the mortgage banking industry, capital markets and rating agencies. He holds a business degree from Indiana University at Bloomington Indiana and a Masters Degree in Real Estate Management from Webster University in St. Louis Missouri. He also has earned his Certified Mortgage Bankers (CMB) designation.

George Rodriguez, CTO – Principal
Mr. Rodriguez is a principal of Waterstone Capital Advisors, with a primary role of managing the securities administration process. Mr. Rodriguez brings a broad background over 21 years of financial markets experience. George has extensive experience in the areas of securities processing for both equity and fixed income trading. He has worked for major securities firms such as Salomon Brothers, Wachovia Securities, and Accenture where he provided technical consulting expertise to top global clients. He holds an MIS degree from Bernard Baruch College in NYC.

Roy Owen, Managing Director – Special Servicing and Asset Management
Mr. Owen has a professional career spanning over 30 years in financial services, reorganization and bankruptcy services, strategy and operations advisory, real estate, real estate capital markets, commercial mortgage underwriting and securitization, non-performing loan resolution and asset management, portfolio management, disposition of portfolios of performing and non-performing loans, commercial mortgage special servicing, public/private joint ventures, and litigation consulting. Prior to Waterstone, he managed the U.S. operations of Crown NorthCorp, Inc., a rated CMBS primary and special servicer, and was a partner in Deloitte’s valuation and real estate consulting group, its financial services industry practice, and its bankruptcy and reorganization services group. He has an MBA from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business and a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Tom Murphy, CIO – Managing Director
Mr. Murphy is the Chief Operating Officer of Waterstone Asset Management responsible for Waterstone’s servicing operations. Prior to joining Waterstone Mr. Murphy was the Head of Information Management for Wachovia’s Real Estate Services Group which consisted of CMBS Primary, Master, Special Servicing and Affordable Housing Equity Investment business lines. Mr. Murphy has over 20 years of diverse business experience in finance, capital markets, operations and risk management. He holds an undergraduate degree in Finance from Canisius College at Buffalo, an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and is a certified Project Management Professional.

Eileen Taylor, General Counsel
Eileen Taylor is general counsel to Waterstone Capital Advisors, and serves to manage the Company’s legal affairs. Ms. Taylor has practiced law in the corporate, corporate finance, and asset backed and commercial mortgage backed securities area for 22 years. Her broad base of experience well-qualifies her to address the Company’s legal needs. Ms. Taylor has previously been a partner in Kilpatrick Stockton, LLP and Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw, LLP. She received her undergraduate degree from Vassar College and her law degree from the University of Notre Dame.

Steve Hall, Managing Director – Business Development
Mr. Hall has over 25 years of experience in residential and commercial real estate finance, with a focus on corporate and wholesale financing solutions for financial institutions, REITs, mortgage bankers, specialty finance companies and hedge funds. Prior to joining Waterstone, Steve worked for financial institutions including Wachovia, Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae and BBVA Compass Bank.
Steve has direct experience with wholesale mortgage lending and secondary markets, property level underwriting of multi-family, residential, commercial and construction loans, structured financings, securitization, servicing and asset management. He holds a BBA from the University of Mississippi, and is a Series 7 and 63 Registered Representative.

Ron Rossi, Managing Director – Advisory Services
Extensive background spanning 15 years in the commercial real estate and banking industry. Experience with all aspects of asset and portfolio management, acquisitions, dispositions as well as workout and restructuring of real estate investments. Formed successful commercial real estate consulting firm in 2005. The firm provided business process outsourcing capabilities to financial institutions and real estate investors. The firms’ largest client was Wachovia, by whom they were provided access to work directly on their network servers. Focus at the firm over the last 2 years has been to provide support to the Special Assets Group within banks to provide the analysis needed to determine buy, sell and/or hold strategies. Engagements also included asset management and workout for assets in pre-foreclosure stages as well as REO and receivership. He has led multiple assignments throughout the US to provide evaluations of CRE bank portfolios for both public and private clients. He holds a BA in Business Administration from the University of California – Irvine, and has active NC Real Estate Broker and Broker In Charge licenses.

Tom Herron, Managing Director, Loan Servicing
Mr. Herron’s professional career spans over 22 years in Real Estate Loan Servicing. Tom’s skills include escrow and risk management, portfolio conversion, and substantial managerial experience in servicing commercial/multifamily and single family loans. Tom has previous work experience with the USDA, GE Capital Mortgage Servicing Corp. and GE Capital Asset Management and Citicorp Mortgage Inc. Prior to joining Waterstone, Tom played a significant role in the start up of a centralized loan servicing operations for the USDA that serviced over 600,000 single-family loans, and centralized the Foreclosure and REO functions totaling 13,000 properties. In his current role at Waterstone, Mr. Herron is responsible for the overall management of the Loan Servicing business unit, providing strategic direction and leadership to ensure all servicing functions are managed within the scope of servicing agreements and/or investor requirements. He holds his BA from Missouri Baptist University in St. Louis.
